Karar – Erdem Genç
HR managers gave a concert in 15 minutes
At the end of his presentation, 'The Rhythm of Performance,' Erdem Genç gave a concert watched live by thousands of employees
A first took place at the Performance, Compensation and Reward Management Summit, held on 21-22 November 2018 at a hotel in Istanbul with the participation of HR specialists from more than 200 of Turkey's largest companies. At the end of his presentation, 'The Rhythm of Performance,' Erdem Genç gave a concert watched live by thousands of employees.
Explaining that each department in a company resembles a different instrument in an orchestra, Genç said, 'Music is created when different sounds and different colours come together in harmonious unity. For this, all our instruments — our departments — need to perform at a high level.' The speaker then illustrated this with instruments handed out by his assistants — darbukas, tambourines, maracas, shakers, and tumbas — and demonstrated that, through the power of teamwork, they could put on a live concert with dozens of HR managers and specialists from major companies in just 15 minutes.
Opening with the words, 'It will be wonderful to see what you can achieve when teamwork and the power of motivation come together,' the trainer introduced each instrument one by one, had the relevant groups work together, and then had all the teams play together in a percussion workshop. Erdem Genç, who has run the Ritmbox Rhythm Workshop with M3 Works for 14 years, explained that we would witness how our organisational performance can improve as our individual performances improve. Participants at the summit, held every year, said they were pleased that such a first had taken place and that they hoped to see similar activities at future summits. ISTANBUL/IHA
