A One-Year Scholarship for Saying “Engel Olma”!

Rocker and businessman Erdem Genç will award a one-year scholarship to a student chosen from among those who shoot a video for his new song Engel Olma (Don’t Stand in My Way). Saying that with this song, which urges young people towards change and action, he has brought together his life as an entrepreneur and businessman, Genç promises a scholarship of 500 TL a month for a year to whoever shoots the video he judges best in his selection from music videos of at least one minute.

The artist, whose first solo album “Motivasyon” has just been released, explains why he is giving this scholarship: “I did my first event jobs at high school. I founded my company at 20. Back then nobody trusted me, but now I am at the head of a company that leads its field. I trust young people, and as a young adult I support both their dreams and their creativity. I hope a contribution like this, however small, finds its way to the right place and that young people climb the ladder of success far more easily.”

Lyrics

My mind and my heart are trapped in a love that wore out with time

To grow, to flourish, the chains must be broken

This deep-rooted change will do you good as well

None of us deserves a lifetime spent on “if only” / A fabric of life gone mouldy / A new life, a new way of living is what I need

Try to understand

If only a new life, a new order could be built

Don’t stand in my way / A new life, a new way of living is what I need

Try to understand

Just don’t stand in my way. Song links:
