Erdem Genç Rocks Beşiktaş at “Motivasyon” Launch Concert

The album launch night of Erdem Genç, whose first album was released recently, took place at Dorock XL Beşiktaş on 26 March, his birthday.

Before the concert, the previously released videos for “Motivasyon” and “Bedeni Mahvet” were screened, together with the lyric videos specially prepared for all the songs for digital platforms. As well as the tracks from the album, Genç performed works by various artists in rock form.

Erdem Genç was accompanied by guitarist Özgür Güngör, who shares the credits for the songs on the album with the artist, Doğasel Kuşçu on drums, Doruk Törün on bass guitar, Şeyma Ayaz on violin and Tolga Ataman on keyboards. At the mixing desk was sound engineer Başar Yakuboğlu, whom we know from the album’s recording, mixing and mastering.

The night, attended by many artists, held a special surprise in the middle of the concert. With oil drums brought on stage, Erdem and the Varillaz team put on a show. In Varillaz, the well-known film and stage actor Teoman Gelmez and the well-known trumpeter Barış Çanakkale joined the group.

In addition, on a night when the live performance was recorded with seven cameras, the video for the track “Sandığın Aşk” was shot with the audience taking part. All the camera direction was in the hands of experienced director of photography Cem Yetiz. Photographers Cem Kaygusuz and Onur Kuter immortalised the best moments of the night.

The artist’s first video, “Motivasyon”, had earned full marks from critics for its car-racing scenes and its dynamism. Their rendition of “Onlar Yanlış Biliyor”, one of Candan Erçetin’s classics, which they played when they were guests on Milyon TV, was also much loved. Meanwhile the newly released video for “Bedeni Mahvet”, shot in a cage-fighting gym with female kickboxer models, continues to attract interest.
