An International Award for Limitless Dreams

The charity projects carried out through M3 Works, which provides teamwork training for companies, have been recognised with an award by the JCI associations, which are represented in 104 countries. The company, whose work such as its wheelchair workshop, bicycle factory, toy workshop and animal-shelter building was assessed, stood out from among many projects to win the Best Corporate Social Responsibility award.

Commenting on the award in the Estonian city of Tallinn, where the international organisation’s world congress is being held, the company’s General Manager Erdem Genç said: “For years we have been organising teamwork and motivation workshops for companies. Our favourites among them are, of course, the ones that involve social responsibility. We brought these together under the ‘Dreams Have No Limits’ project, and we were deemed worthy of this award for the work we have carried out with Turkey’s biggest companies.”

Genç, who noted that they work with many non-governmental organisations on the project, said that the work means far more than a mere donation. “In these projects companies do not make cash donations. Company employees assemble and service products that arrive from the factory completely disassembled, and carry out the final checks. In this way, while doing something that strengthens team spirit, they are also involved in work that benefits society. For example, the wheelchairs built in the wheelchair workshop are donated to Türkiye Omurilik Felçlileri Derneği (the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey) after a technical inspection. Because they are bought wholesale and unassembled, they cost less, which makes it possible to donate more. Both the companies and the associations are pleased with projects of this kind.”

In the bicycle factory, Darüşşafaka’s bicycle park was completely renewed with 93 bicycles. Likewise, thanks to the bicycles donated to the Istanbul and İzmir branches of Koruncuk Vakfı, almost every child there has a bicycle. They work in step with companies on donations such as toys, clothing and events to many foundations and associations, including Lösev, Atlas Yardım Derneği and Kansersiz Yaşam Vakfı.

Genç, who says they also build animal shelters for our little friends, cats and dogs, notes that they deliver these to the shelters together with company volunteers and associations.

“We are increasing activities of this kind with every passing day. For example, we carry out work such as school desks, tree planting and sea clean-ups in cooperation with the relevant schools and associations. We are open to all new projects. I hope this award catches companies’ attention and that together we find the opportunity to do much more useful work for society,” said Erdem Genç, adding that they work not only in Turkey but also in Northern Cyprus, and that they want to extend their work to the Turkic republics and sister countries.
