I Was Named a Changemaker of Europe

The Turk Named a Changemaker of Europe

JCI (Junior Chamber International) is a giant organisation with more than 200,000 members in over 100 countries, a history of more than 100 years and the status of a United Nations solution partner. Its European body has declared Erdem Genç a Changemaker from among its thousands of members.

At M3 Works, which organises teamwork and motivation training for companies, Erdem Genç also carries out social responsibility work. One of the best-loved workshops in the projects he runs with major companies is the Wheelchair Factory. Genç has company employees assemble wheelchair parts obtained from the factory and donates the chairs to the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey (Türkiye Omurilik Felçlileri Derneği), to be passed on to disabled people on the waiting list. In this way, dozens of disabled people each year gain their freedom, at least in part.

From workshops where bicycles are given to children in need to toy factories, and from shelters built for our friends on the streets to school bags, Genç runs many social responsibility workshops with the employees of major companies, and says: “Dreams have no limits.”

The young businessman, previously named Turkey’s Most Outstanding Young Person by the same organisation’s national body in Turkey, has also been chosen Entrepreneur of the Year by various institutions in our country.

The original published text reads: ··· Meet JCI Europe’s #EverydayChangemaker Erdem Genç from JCI Bahçeşehir! Erdem has been specializing on team building activities focusing on #socialresponsibility with his company M3 Works. One of these activities is the Wheelchair Factory, for which the teams have to compete in assembling wheelchair parts from factories and putting them together. The wheelchairs are then being donated to the Spinal Paralytics Association of Turkey, official partner of JCI Bahçeşehir. So far his team has already donated hundreds of wheelchairs. Erdem has been nominated #TOYP and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Turkey.
