Investing in the Office Is Investing in the Business
I am only just beginning to realise how valuable an investment office interior design really is.
Our office was no longer big enough for us, and we had come to feel that we had no choice but to start looking for a new one. Yet the building was our own; we had been here for years, and both our suppliers and our clients knew us in this prestigious district and visited us here. Because it was our own building we were very comfortable, and the thought of leaving that comfort behind was unsettling.
Leaving the office where we had made do with simple solutions until now had become both a necessity and a hardship. Then we met Artstyle. They visited our office and listened to us. While the measurements were being taken we exchanged ideas and identified the practical and aesthetic concerns that mattered to us.
Frankly, I didn’t want to give up my much-loved fireplace, but I was won over by a good many facts, such as that I would gain at least 4 square metres and that this structure, which I never used anyway, was unnecessary. They also suggested removing the two-tonne water tanks, which we never used, and turning the space into storage. Our washroom needed to become more functional and to offer five-star hotel comfort. Our narrow kitchen needed to disappear from view behind special doors when required. Our terrace with its city view would be laid out as a conservatory and become an additional mini meeting room. With these and dozens of similar recommendations we set off, and put our trust in Artstyle.
First they came to us with 3D plans. The plans alone were enough for me to show off to friends in my business circle. I told them my various requests on the drawings, and they finalised them. The work was completed right on time, in line with the project deadline, and our office became a 2012 model.
Whereas we had wanted to leave our old office for lack of space, in our present office we have four storerooms. We can even make use of the large space above our washroom, reaching it by a ship’s ladder. In a room where we used to say three people could barely work, four people can now work in airy comfort. With my custom-designed desk joining on to the meeting table, I can chair meetings. In my made-to-measure bookcase, which reaches up to the ceiling, I have comfortably fitted my book collection as well as the company’s documents.
Everyone who sees our new office — suppliers, clients, friends from the press, students — tells us how much they like it. Investing in the office is investing in the business. I learned that after meeting Artstyle. Thank you, friends.
